Greengill House is a traditional stone farmhouse on the edge of Morland in Cumbria’s rolling Eden Valley with a stunning new living room extension featuring a folding, sliding glass wall onto the terrace and view. It is available for minimum 7 night lets in July and August.
The house now comes with a new Hot Tub (Jacuzzi) with a private entrance from the garden. Enclosed at the sides, it has long views across the Eden Valley to the Pennines and up to the sky. The Hot Tub is for the exclusive use of Greengill House guests but they have discretion to allow access by the residents of the Bower House or Jubilee Cottage, but not the campsite or the bunk barn. Unlimited use of the Hot Tub is included in the rental fee. A small hut by the Tub contains a fridge for cold drinks and hooks for clothes storage.
Downstairs is the entrance hall leading to the broad staircase. The dining room is on the right connected to the kitchen by a wide opening. Beyond the dining room a glass door opens onto the new living room extension (6×4m, 20 × 13ft). The room has full length sliding glass doors which can be fully opened back in the summer onto the sandstone terrace and lawn with splendid elevated views across the Eden Valley to the Pennines. Large skylights further create a light and airy feeling. A reclaimed sandstone fireplace contains a woodburning stove. The A-frame roof is made of local oak as is the oak boarded floor. Subtle, discreet and flexible ceiling lighting displays the original paintings, and table lamps on side tables provide reading lights. Entertainment is provided by the 40” LED HD Smart TV with internet access, and the high quality Ruark Audio with DAB, CD player, and iPod dock. Two large comfortable sofas and an armchair are complemented by antique furniture to make a very attractive living space.
The dining room can seat up to 8 people round the oak table on padded chairs, while table lamps on side tables provide a flattering light. The neighbouring kitchen contains electric oven, ceramic hob, fridge, dishwasher, toaster and kettle. A large utility room contains a second sink, freezer, washing machine, microwave, drying racks and extra equipment. There is a downstairs loo under the stairs.
Oil central heating when required keeps the well insulated house warm at all times of year. The living room stove is provided with unlimited seasoned hardwood logs.
