Greengill Barn is a bunk barn for 16 with modern facilities recently converted from a traditional stone barn.
The special feature, unmatched elsewhere, is the splendid double storey recreation room ideal for parties. It contains comfortable sofas, armchairs, a pool table, a library, table tennis and card table. Free unlimited superfast WiFi. Powerful sound system. Plug in your own iPod or phone, or bring CDs. Optional LED lights flash to the music. Subtle indirect lighting reflects from the stone walls, and gives the room a warm evening glow. During the day light pours in through the south facing double glass doors and large skylights. Level access direct from the road. Bring your own food, drink and music, or order it in advance for supermarket delivery. Insulated ceiling and effective night storage heating with booster plus extra radiators in cold weather keep the barn warm and cosy.
Downstairs, but also at ground level on this “bank barn”, is a well equipped kitchen and dining room for 20 with a large five ring electric cooker and double sink. Two fridges, freezer, two microwaves, large toaster and two kettles.
A door from the dining room connects to the three Mira Sport electric showers, two loos and two washbasins. A separate room contains a third loo, washbasin, full length mirror and power point. Please note: On a few weekends of the year when the campsite is very busy, the loos and the showers may be opened for campsite use by a separate direct entrance. There is a lockable connecting door from the barn to the showers.
The two bunk rooms are one above the other on the end of the building behind sound deadening fire doors. The bunks are solid and wooden with deep mattresses. 10 are 3’ wide, and 6 are 2’6” wide. Both rooms have direct outside exits in case of emergency.
Secure bike store and bike washing facilities for cyclists.
If you don’t want to cook, you can buy a Full English Breakfast and takeout sandwiches in the Mill Yard Café five minutes walk away. The Café also does pizzas on Friday nights, and tapas night on Saturday with private dining room for special occasions and even a sofa cinema. Evening meals should be prebooked on 01931 714155. The Crown Inn serves real ale and does evening meals Tuesday to Saturday plus Sunday lunch. Enquiries 01931 714310. Other excellent pubs and restaurants not far away.
Greengill Barn is open all year including Christmas and New Year for exclusive group bookings only. Minimum stay: 2 nights.
One third non-returnable deposit for accommodation confirms a booking. It can be paid by online bank transfer, or cheque. Balance due one month before arrival.
£200 bond must be paid into account beforehand, and will be returned in full if the barn is left in a tidy state as explained on notice board. Cleaning materials and bin bags provided.

I wanted to thank you for our recent visit to your Barn. We had a fab time and the facilities were spot on, we had a great time and will definitely be coming back.
Everyone had a great time at the weekend and everyone said it was the perfect venue.
I just wanted to express our thanks for the use of greengill bunkbarn. This was our 2nd visit, and we will definitely look to return again. We hold a family get together every year with our siblings and children, and greengill has proved the perfect setting surrounded by beautiful countryside and yet easy to access from the motorway. We love the living space which has enough comfy sofas for everyone to gather together in the evening, and there is the added bonus of the pool table, table tennis and darts, which provides much entertainment.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Greengill barn and it was indeed a perfect venue for our family get-together. I should think we will want to return again next year, but it will be a question of finding a suitable date. You live in a very beautiful part of the country and the fantastic weather we had, made it even more idyllic.
Thanks again for a great weekend, we will be sure to remember the bunkhouse for future gatherings and I’m sure everyone will be recommending the venue to friends as it had everything we needed and provided many happy memories.
Myself and the others had a really great time at the weekend – the weather, particularly on Saturday, was ideal and the bunk barn was just what we needed to accommodate a group of guys out for an adventurous (by our middle-aged standards) running/walking/cycling weekend.
We had a great time! It was ideal for what we were after, plenty of living and sleeping space for all of us, and everyone loved having pool/table tennis onsite too. The Millyard Cafe did a great job of keeping us fed, and we also popped into the Crown each night. Morland delivered everything a stag group needed!
We had a brilliant time. The barn was perfect for the stag party, great value for money and somewhere I’d definitely recommend for others. I couldn’t speak highly enough of the place.
We had an absolutely fantastic time. What a briliant venue! We’ll be coming back later in the year hopefully.
It was a fantastic weekend. The barn is amazing and we really enjoyed the Lake District. We will surely come back and recommend it.
We had a great weekend. The barn was just perfect. We are already talking about doing the same thing next year.
