Greengill Bunk Barn is a converted traditional stone barn with modern facilities.
The bunk barn's special feature, unmatched elsewhere, is the splendid double storey recreation room. It has comfortable sofas, armchairs, a pool table, darts, a table tennis table, a card table and a library. During the day, light pours in through the skylights, and subtle, indirect lighting reflects the traditional stone walls and gives the room a warm evening glow. There is level access directly from the road.
The two bunk rooms are one above the other on the end of the building behind sound-deadening fire doors. The bunks are solid and wooden with deep mattresses. 10 are 3’ wide, and 6 are 2’6” wide. Both rooms have emergency outside access.
Downstairs, at the rear ground level, is a well-equipped kitchen and dining room that seats 20, with a large five-ring electric cooker and a double sink. There are two fridges, a freezer, a microwave and the usual kitchen appliances.
A door from the dining room connects to the shower room*, which has three Mira Sport electric showers, two toilets and two washbasins. A separate room contains a third toilet, a washbasin, a full-length mirror and a power point.
An insulated ceiling, effective night storage heaters and extra radiators keep the bunk barn warm and cosy during cold weather.
A secure bike store is available.
A BBQ is available for use outside in the Orchard, this is shared with anyone from the Campsite and is on a first come first served basis.
The Bunk Barn is self-catering, so please bring your own food and drinks. Alternatively, you can order a supermarket delivery from Asda, Tesco or Morrisons for when you arrive.
There are four car parking spaces for the bunk barn - two in front of the metal stairway at the front and two on the verge by the gate, slightly further along the road.
* Please Note: on occasional weekends during the year, if the campsite is very busy, the shower room and toilets may be opened for shared use by the campsite. A separate, direct access door via the courtyard would be opened and the internal connecting door to the bunk barn would be locked at the discretion of the bunk barn guests.
More than 16 guests? Our picturesque campsite next door to the bunk barn offers space and facilities for tents, caravans and motorhomes. It is Camping and Caravanning Club certified.
Greengill Bunk Barn is open April to December, including Christmas and New Year, for exclusive group bookings.

I wanted to thank you for our recent visit to your Barn. We had a fab time and the facilities were spot on, we had a great time and will definitely be coming back.
Everyone had a great time at the weekend and everyone said it was the perfect venue.
I just wanted to express our thanks for the use of greengill bunkbarn. This was our 2nd visit, and we will definitely look to return again. We hold a family get together every year with our siblings and children, and greengill has proved the perfect setting surrounded by beautiful countryside and yet easy to access from the motorway. We love the living space which has enough comfy sofas for everyone to gather together in the evening, and there is the added bonus of the pool table, table tennis and darts, which provides much entertainment.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Greengill barn and it was indeed a perfect venue for our family get-together. I should think we will want to return again next year, but it will be a question of finding a suitable date. You live in a very beautiful part of the country and the fantastic weather we had, made it even more idyllic.
Thanks again for a great weekend, we will be sure to remember the bunkhouse for future gatherings and I’m sure everyone will be recommending the venue to friends as it had everything we needed and provided many happy memories.
Myself and the others had a really great time at the weekend – the weather, particularly on Saturday, was ideal and the bunk barn was just what we needed to accommodate a group of guys out for an adventurous (by our middle-aged standards) running/walking/cycling weekend.
We had a great time! It was ideal for what we were after, plenty of living and sleeping space for all of us, and everyone loved having pool/table tennis onsite too. The Millyard Cafe did a great job of keeping us fed, and we also popped into the Crown each night. Morland delivered everything a stag group needed!
We had a brilliant time. The barn was perfect for the stag party, great value for money and somewhere I’d definitely recommend for others. I couldn’t speak highly enough of the place.
We had an absolutely fantastic time. What a briliant venue! We’ll be coming back later in the year hopefully.
It was a fantastic weekend. The barn is amazing and we really enjoyed the Lake District. We will surely come back and recommend it.
We had a great weekend. The barn was just perfect. We are already talking about doing the same thing next year.
